Affinity Suite: French Translation of the ‘Blend Options’ Window

Recommended Posts

The term ‘Blend Gamma’ has been translated into French as ‘Gamma de mélange’ instead of ‘Gamma de fusion’ or more precisely ‘Correction gamma de fusion’. This translation ‘mélange’ can lead to confusion, as the term is too general and does not correctly reflect the operation, which is in fact a genuine merging of layers.

The use of the term ‘blend’ also appears inconsistent with the title of the ‘Blend Options’ (Option de fusion) window, which is likely to confuse users. Consistent and precise terminology, such as ‘Blend Gamma’, or better still ‘Blend Gamma Correction’, would be better suited to describing gamma management when blending layers.

Similarly, for Anti-aliasing options, the term ‘Inherit’ is translated as ‘Recouvrer’, which doesn’t really make sense in this context. ‘Hérité’ would be a more appropriate translation, as it reflects the idea that the layer inherits the anti-aliasing settings from its parent layer.

Finally, the area dedicated to the anti-aliasing options overlaps with that of the ‘Fill Opacity’ parameter, making the interface confusing and difficult to use.

Mais je vous le demande, peut-on imaginer une police sans sérifs ?
