freid229 Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 (edited) When using Affinity Photo version 2.5.3, I'm experiencing a constant crash when switching from the paint tool to the smudge/blur and vice versa. The bug is reproductible and happening quite often. The crash happens on files after a certain time. It does not seems to happen on fresh documents. Hardware Acceleration is off. Using Windows 11 Version 10.0.22631 Build 22631. I'll share a file if possible when I'm able to reproduce the bug on a document I'm free to share. Really looking forward a solution as when the crash starts they are frequent and provoke a lot of rework. Thanks in advances. Edited August 22, 2024 by freid229 Removed attached files Quote

freid229 Posted August 22, 2024 Author Posted August 22, 2024 Thanks for taking the time and hello @Komatös Graphics card driver is up to date. I did an update yesterday and the problem was persistent before this update and happened. For information, I run an NVIDIA 3080 RTX. Quote

Unfortunately, I don't know enough about the system or application internals to make much sense of the files myself. But I didn't see anything obvious that suggests the cause of the issue. Staff DWright Posted September 5, 2024 Staff Posted September 5, 2024 Hi @freid229, I have investigated the log files that you sent and there are a lot of .NET framework errors for both Affinity Photo and Designer and also several other programs, can you please use the following link to download and install the latest .NET framework 4.8 https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet-framework/thank-you/net48-web-installer Quote
freid229 Posted September 8, 2024 Author Posted September 8, 2024 I have used the link but the installer stopped since it is already installed. I've run windows update and it is at it's latest version. I've upgraded to Affinity Photo 2.5.5 and I'm still experiencing crashes. net_update.rtf Quote
freid229 Posted September 11, 2024 Author Posted September 11, 2024 I've found that I have some bad RAM in my computer. Will replace the part and update if the problem resolves itself. I have a feeling that perhaps this was the source of the crashes. Quote
Mr.Caustic Posted April 17 Posted April 17 I am also experiencing the same issue. I have noticed that it happens more often with smudge and brush/erase tools that have feathered edges (things like soft brushes, etc). My drivers and net framework are up to date. My hardware works perfectly, so no issue there. I have noticed that the issue started occurring more often after the new patch. I did have some crashes before, but not as regular as now. Also, how do I get the crash report? Thanks! Quote
