Hi there,
can anyone tell me or help me with my Master pages? I set up a master-facing page spread with data-merge fields for a catalogue but I want to edit the layout. It appears that all my elements in the master are linked and alter the whole document as I desire except for the data-merge assets. So changing text colour, size, or placement doesn't adapt to the whole document in the same manner. I noticed that the Data-merge doesn't have the same green line within the master page layer to indicate its editability. does this mean that I have to redo the data merge every time I make a change to the doc or am I naive to a more informed setup/workflow?

I think that redoing the Data Merge operation would be the usual approach when you need to make changes to the layout. You would save the original .afpub file to use for that, then later Open it, make any needed changes, and re-run Data Merge to generate a new output document.
