Hi,

Working in Affinity 2.5.3 on a macbook air 2020, Sonoma 14.5, and frequently coming across this really annoying problem that imported pdf's goes empty all of a sudden. The embedded pdf is still there in the document, and I can see the full figure as a miniature in the "open" menu, but in the actual project the embedded pdf is just empty. If there's a fix to this I would be very grateful, as this is costing me a lot of time and effort.

Hi @axeljensen and welcome to the forums,

Is this a single or multipage PDF file?

Can you upload a sample PDF where this is happening so we can take a look at what might be happening?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply! Attaching an example of a pdf that unexpectedly went empty recently in an affinity designer project.

I usually experience this with pdfs exported from R (ggplot), if that's of any help (but those are also 99% of the pdf's I work with so not necessarily related).

Usually they disappear on startup, but sometimes also when just changing the zoom level in affinity or moving the pdf around.

Best,

Hi @axeljensen,

Many thanks for the file...

There's nothing obviously wrong with the PDF and I'm unable to make it vanish after placing it either by moving it around, zooming in or out of the canvas or when rebooting Designer which suggests it's being triggered by something else, possibly something else in the Designer file itself...

Are you in a position to upload a Designer file where you've placed the PDF so we can test it as well?
