marius.loots Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Affinity Photo 2.5.3 on Windows 11 I am trying to paint on several images using the paint brush tool, adding the same colour to each image. However, when I switch between images, the colour selection is not retained and I have to change the colour each time. Workflow: 1. Open 5 images. 2. Select the Paint brush tool. 3. Make a colour selection using the colour sliders. 4. Draw dots and lines on the image. 5. Switch to the next image. 6. When selecting the brush tool, the system default colour is now present. 7. Change to the colour used for the first image. Repeat for all other open images. 8. Back to image 1. Select a new colour. Paint. Switch to next image. 9. Now I have to select the new colour AGAIN for each open image. Is there a way to make the colour selection persistent across all open images? It gets tedious to adjust the colour each time I start on a new image and for each image every time. Thank you for any pointers. Regards Marius Loots Quote

Assuming you mean JPG, PNG files etc File > New Stack and select the 5 images This will create a group of the 5 images Right-click the group and select Ungroup You will now have your 5 images in 5 separate layers You can now paint on them individually with the same brush and colour Once done you can File > Export them individually to separate files or use the Export Persona to simultaneously export them to separate files Tip: If you are painting on the exact same spot on all images, you can select all the images in the Layers panel then when painting on the top layer the same brush strokes will appear on the other images walt.farrell, GarryP and Old Bruce 3 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. walt.farrell Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 You can: Paint using a color in one document. Then Press Alt (Windows) or Opt (Mac) and sample the color you just painted. This will put the color you just used into the small color picker in the Color panel. Switch to a different document. Select the Brush Tool, which will probably not be using the right color. Click on the small color picker in the Color panel to set the saved color. Paint. Repeat from 3 for each document.
