lastfuture
Hey, I've noticed in the video trailer for the Affinity Designer Windows beta that at 1:00 the Ibiza design on the side of the sky scraper has been distorted towards a vanishing point, i.e. using perspective. I've been wondering if we're able to do this in Affinity Designer for the Mac already (and if so how), or if this will come to us, soon. Perspective distort, and particularly distorting embedded documents like this is the top thing on my wish list for Affinity Designer. I've not been able to find a feature like that in the current version or the 1.5 beta so far. Cheers
Staff TonyB Posted June 30, 2016 Staff Share Posted June 30, 2016 I will check with the guys but it looks like a skew and crop to me. We are still planning on a vector distortion tool but we don't have a timescale for it yet.
lastfuture
If it were a skew and crop the horizontal edge of "IBIZA" and of "THE WHITE ISLE" (added later in the video) should be parallel but to my eye are quite clearly at different angles, which you can see if you place them against horizontal lines anon1
viterzbayraku
For me this is the most expected feature. I'm sad that it was not implemented in 1.5 beta :)
fernandolins86
Has this been implemented? Can't find it in the menus
Staff MEB Posted February 8, 2017 Staff Share Posted February 8, 2017 Hi fernandolins86, No, there's no perspective distortion tool in Designer. Currently you have to use a Live Perspective filter (available in Affinity Photo only) to achieve this.
