I'm new to Publisher, so please be gentle with me!
I have a 470+ page document, which only contains text. The text has flowed successfully throughout all the pages, but now I need to increase the margin widths.
When I do this using Document Setup, the text boxes don't conform to the new page dimensions...

I realise a document of this size isn't the ideal place to start - but hey-ho!
How can I make all the text frames adjust to the new margin widths please?

(PS - Why on earth, is Document setup in the File dropdown, when there's a Document dropdown it could be in?).

If you created the text frames on a master page, you can change them once on the master page and they'll update on every page automatically.

If you didn't create the text frames on a master page:

  1. Draw new text frames of the correct size on a master page - if it's a facing pages document, link the frames from left to right
  2. Apply that master page to all pages if it's not already applied to them
  3. Go to the first page with text and click in the original text frame - it should be on top of the new master frame
  4. Choose Edit > Select All, and then Edit > Cut to cut all text from the story (the series of linked frames) to the clipboard
  5. Switch to the Move tool and delete that text frame - if it's a facing pages document, delete the original frames from both sides
  6. Double-click on the new frame inherited from the master page to switch to the Frame Text tool and position the text cursor in it
  7. Choose Edit > Paste  to paste all of the text you previously cut - now you will have the text in the first frame, or the first two frames if it's a facing pages document
  8. Delete all of the other blank pages after this page
  9. Go back to that page or spread in which you pasted the text
  10. Shift + Click the red Text Flow Out control on the frame that shows the text is overflowing the text frame. Publisher will create new pages based on the same master page and link all the frames together automatically.

Good luck!

I agree, it's rather odd, but it's because Publisher is part of a suite. Designer has the same command but doesn't have a Document menu so for consistency Serif put it in the File menu.

Thanks for your help!
I hadn't created master frames but realised I could easily start with a new document, and import all the content into it.
Master frames are a great idea!
