Akut_Luna Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 I have never worked with Affinity Desinger before, or any other vector based software, so I'm sorry if this is a stupide question. I want to recreate this logo with curves. As you can see I managed quite well, but the tips at the wing and the tail aren't as pointy as in the original. How can I make the (the light and dark blue) outlines more pointy? I have attached my file below. Thanks Akut Fox.afdesign Quote
Old Bruce Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 I would eschew the use of the FX panel and just use a couple of Strokes from the Appearance panel. Set to Miter with a large value and Outside alignment. Fox bruce.afdesign In my opinion the FX panel's Outline is less useful than the Stroke or Appearance panels. Ldina Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 @Akut_Luna Agree with @Old Bruce. Here are two other alternative methods. Contour Tool and Appearance Panel methods. Outer Stoke in FX seems to always round the corners (no miter adjustment that I could find). Inner stroke keeps it sharp. KarinC Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 I would select the node that is round and change it to sharp. Right click on the node with the node tool and choose convert to sharp. That would give you more control over the result. Akut_Luna 1 Quote

Akut_Luna Posted August 19, 2024 Author Posted August 19, 2024 Thank you to everyone who has answerd my question. @Komatös Would you mind shareing the file for your version? Yours looks so much cleaner then mine and I would like to learn from your version. Quote

But I would like to say right away that I have upscaled and sharpened your original file with Topaz Gigapixel. Only then did I redraw the fox.
