MikeTO Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 I've watched the recording a few times and I'm unsure what you're pointing out but thereĀ is a general issue with the way Affinity handles mixed state values in text fields so perhaps that's it? If you format a paragraph in a modern Mac app as 12 pt and then format one word in the middle of it to 24 pt, selecting the whole paragraph should show 12 pt (the value of the first character) in grey italics which indicate that the selection contains mixed values. The former Mac standard was to show a blank value in mixed state text fields but at some point Apple shifted to this nicer approach. Adobe and Microsoft apps still show a mixed state text field as blank. Affinity is halfway between the two approaches but it's confusing - it shows the value of the first character like the newer Mac standard but it doesn't use grey italics so you have no idea it's mixed state. I think it would be better to either blank the field or show it in italics to avoid confusion. Is this the issue you're reporting or is there something else? Pawwwle Posted August 19, 2024 Author Posted August 19, 2024 Thank you for your answer. You understood my post correctly. I'm used to the mixed state text field being displayed as empty. Blank field is better in my opinion, because wouldn't allow for confusion with text settings. What path will Affinity take? Quote
