Sonja_MUC
I'm creating a calendar. I have one master page for the 7 days of one week and then 12 connected master pages for the months. If I update anything on the master pages it does not show on the pages. I have to drag and drop the master pages every time to the pages if I make changes. carl123
If the masters are correctly applied to the pages. then changes to the masters should show up on the pages Can you upload the document to the forum? Sonja_MUC
Thank you for your post. I don't feel comfortable posting work for a client in a forum. Can you please tell me how to apply the pages correctly? Are there settings that say changes should not show automatically?
carl123
In the pages panel if you hover over one of the pages it should show which masters are applied to that page. Does that look correct to you? Sonja_MUC
Yes, if I hover over the pages I see the name of the correct master page
carl123
1. If you add something new to a master page does it show up on the relevant page 2. If you make changes to something already on a master page and they are not showing up, what exactly are you changing? Hangman
Hi @Sonja_MUC, This seems to be working as expected... Here I have one Master with the Days of the Week. This Master is then applied to each of the Monthly Masters then each new Page is created using the appropriate Monthly Master... Editing content on either the 'Days of the Week Master' or a 'Monthly Master' updates the respective pages accordingly... Is your setup structured differently? Sonja_MUC
1. If I add like a blue box it shows on all pages immediately. If I delete it again it goes away. 2. I made grey text boxes on master page A. On the master pages of the months I write the month in each of the grey boxes but that text does not show on the pages that are connected with the master page of the month. Sonja_MUC
I'll post some screenshots. First master A with the grey boxes. Master of a month with the text in the grey boxes and an example of a page that is connected to a master page. As you can see there is also something weird with the first number, which is higher on the page than on the master pages.
Hangman
Hi @Sonja_MUC, A quick question... Are you using Data Merge to apply the appropriate dates, i.e., via a .xlsx or .csv file? carl123
Can you upload a screenshot of the Layers panel for one of the pages not displaying the text correctly (just the panel will do we don't have to see the whole document) Hangman 1 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. Sonja_MUC
Sure. As you can see it shows the overview of the month which is on the master page of august but it does not show the month aug in the grey boxes.
Sonja_MUC
Could it be that it does not work if you put an element on master page a and then edit this element on the second master page?
Hangman
Just now, Sonja_MUC said: Could it be that it does not work if you put an element on master page a and then edit this element on the second master page? You would need to edit the Master A element on the Master A page for it to update on the second Master page which has Master A applied to it... Sonja_MUC
Ok, I guess I understand what the problem is. In my case it does not seem logical though. I put a box on master A which should be on all pages. But the content of the box should be different on some pages. So if I change the layout of master A I have to change all the boxes on the master pages. Otherwise the box would change on all master pages by only having to change master A and the content would remain on the connected master pages. Hangman
Hi @Sonja_MUC, Would something like the attached work for you... this is just rough and ready so it doesn't include the horizontal lines and monthly calendars which you would add to the Monthly Masters... Days Master contains the seven days of the week... You then have twelve Monthly Masters... Apply the Days Master to each Monthly Masters in the Master's Panel... Apply the relevant Monthly Master to the appropriate number of Pages for that month then edit the Date accordingly per page (which I assume you're doing already)... Sonja_MUC
@HangmanThank you very much. I will do it like that. But it is still a little bug because the pages should always contain what there is on the master pages. If I drag and drop the master page of a months again it shows all the changes, just not automatically like with all other things. Hope you understand what I mean. Anyway, thank you very much for your help! I will use the workaround

Hope you understand what I mean. I think I have seen this issue before so I do know what you mean though I'm not seeing it with the sample file I uploaded so I'm slightly unsure what triggers the behaviour...
