sonification
Hello. I am on a new machine, installed the 3 apps. When I start a new PHOTO document and try to open a picture is takes forever and cannot close. Same pictures open fine on GIMP. Tried to uninstall (from MSI/EXE) and reinstall using the MSI file only. Same problem. This are my specs: HP Victus 16-r1000 series laptop Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-14450HX 2.40 GHz 16.0 GB RAM with NVidia 4060 Windows 11 Home Single Language 23H2 OS Build 22631.4037 Please help as I need to work. P.S.: Designer and Publisher seems fine so far R Edited August 17 by sonification

If it is, disable it, restart Photo, and see if that resolves the problem. Does this happen with all image files you try to Open, or one specific one? What kind of file is it? Beyond that, issues Opening files are often related to downlevel GPU drivers.
