LeWoodstock Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 Hello. I have just purchased the ‘Daub’ package from the shop and had it installed automatically. According to the account display, this has also happened, but I can't find it in Photo V2 under the brushes. Can someone tell/help me where to find it? Note: if I try to import the individual brush file directly, I get the error message that the file is not a compatible brush (see screenshots) System: Mac OS 14.5 Quote

It should be in the Brushes panel automatically if it shows as installed via the Account dialog. You gave us some screenshots, but you didn't show us the Brushes panel. What do you see there? 2 hours ago, LeWoodstock said: Note: if I try to import the individual brush file directly, I get the error message that the file is not a compatible brush (see screenshots) That probably means the downloaded file is corrupted; try downloading again. I just downloaded from the Store and that file worked fine for me. But just in case: what method did you use to try to load that file? Did you use File > Import Content, or double-click on the .afbrushes file, or import using the Brushes panel? ps: Welcome to the Affinity forums. LeWoodstock Posted August 17, 2024 Author Posted August 17, 2024 Thank you for your welcome and for your help! Sorry, I forgot the screenshots of the brushes. About the installation: I first tried it via the brush panel, then as suggested by double-clicking and via File > Import Contents. Without success. When double-clicking, the same error message appeared (also with a newly downloaded file), when importing content, no error message appeared. Restarting the MAC and Affinity Photo were also unsuccessful. I am still at a loss Quote
walt.farrell Posted August 17, 2024 Posted August 17, 2024 Thanks for those screenshots. Sorry to be a pain, but it would help if you'd switch your Photo User Interface to English (Settings, bottom of the General section), as there's too much translation from German to English needed for me to fully understand what those last screenshots are showing, and there are some subtle aspects of this I don't want to get wrong. Dan C Posted August 17, 2024 Posted August 17, 2024 Welcome to the Affinity Forums @LeWoodstock & sorry to hear you're having trouble! I believe there may be an issue with your internal settings file that the Affinity app uses to store these brushes, therefore I'd like to try resetting this file and reinstalling the brushes through the My Account dialog. Please fully close Affinity Photo, then relaunch the app holding down the CTRL key whilst it launches. You should see the Clear User Data dialog appear. Within this dialog, please untick all options in the first category, then enable 'Reset Brushes' in the second category. Select Clear and the app should open, having reset your brushes back to default settings (and you should see some brushes already available for use in the Brushes Studio). Now return to the My Account dialog and reinstall your brush kits, you should now find these new categories in the Brushes Studio for use. I hope this helps jmwellborn and walt.farrell 2 Quote
