I'd like to make an improvement suggestion for the following case:

1. Create an adjustment-layer (or any layer) and add a mask

2. Make adjustments to that layer

3. Click on the mask and paint in/out the desired areas

4. Turn the adjustment layer on/off to see the effekt

5. Continue painting on the mask

On Step 5 Photo will create a new mask instead of adding to the existing mask. It seems that the mask looses focus. This is not what I would expect. What I would expect is that the paint brush is applied to the existing mask as in step 3.

This happens, if the Layer and mask are "collapsed" (thumbnails in line).

It does not happen if they are expanded (above/below each other). In this case, when in step 5, the paint brush is actually applied to the existing mask which is the way I would expect and prefer.

So my suggestion is to keep focus on the maskt if it is currently selected and the parent layer's visibility is toggled on/of.
