joe_l Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 When you apply a Style on an element, then create another element (which has no style), the style keeps being selected in the panel. Of course not being a problem with obvious style changes. Quote ---------- Windows 10 / 11, Complete Suite Retail and Beta
GarryP Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 I think that selection is just there to remind you which Style you applied last. Since the Styles are not ‘linked’ to the layers they have been applied to there’s probably no harm in it being selected as it doesn’t 'do' anything unless the user clicks on a Style. I imagine it remaining selected is quite useful if you have lots of styles which look similar in the thumbnails, so you can more-easily select the same one again. joe_l 1 Quote

This is debatable. But you are right that styles are not linked (what a pity). So I sort it under by design. Quote ---------- Windows 10 / 11, Complete Suite Retail and Beta
GarryP Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 I can see that it might sometimes be confusing, especially if people think that the Style is linked to the layer – e.g. the Styles Panel is telling me that my currently selected layer has a particular Style applied to it but it doesn’t have any Style applied to it – but, it’s probably not much of a problem and might actually help some people as it is. It might be better if Serif can make it look less ‘selected’ and more ‘last used’ in some way, but I have no idea what would be appropriate while not being confusing. Quote
