DanDoe Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 Hello, Publisher 2.5.3/Windows 10. When I try to delete a page, nothing happens, the page remains in place, but the total number of pages decreases by 1. Thanks in advance for the follow-up. dB. Quote
GarryP Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 How are you deleting a page? It would be useful if you could record and share a (full-screen, whole application UI) video showing us what happens. If you can’t record a video, can you give us three full-screen screenshots? One immediately before you try to use the deletion functionality, one immediately before you apply the deletion functionality, and one immediately after you apply the deletion functionality. Quote
walt.farrell Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 Note that if your page has only text on it, in a text frame linked to a following page, it may seem that nothing happened because deleting the page does not delete the text. You might have to look at the end of the linked set of text frames, where you would see that you have text that has fallen off the end of the last text frame. DanDoe Posted August 12, 2024 Author Posted August 12, 2024 Hello Here are 3 screenshots: Step1) two empty pages + at the bottom the total number of pages (322); Step2) removing one of the two empty pages; Step3) still two empty pages, but the total number of pages is now 321. Note that I tried unsuccessfully to delete the page using the context menu, using the trash can icon and via the 'document/delete pages' menu... Thanks again, dB. Quote
GarryP Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 Thanks for the screenshots. (Is there some reason why you didn’t supply full-screen screenshots as requested?) I’ve tried to replicate the issue but can’t seem to get it to happen for me. Are you using the Books functionality at all? If so, can you show us your Books Panel? Can you give us a screenshot showing your Section Manager dialog (menu “Window → Section Manager”)? Quote
MikeTO Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 Are the text frames on pages 24 and 27 linked and are there page, column, or frame breaks between the text in them? Select Text > Show Special Characters to look for breaks.
