pagelayoutt Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 Each time I create a picture frame (1), I also need to choose the square wrap style (2) and then pin the image (3). Is there any way to speed up my work flow by combining 1, 2 and 3 into one action generated by one or two keyboard shortcuts (4)? Quote
GarryP Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 I don’t think there’s a way to do what you want. You can create an Asset from a Frame Text layer which has your required Text Wrap settings, but pinning is a manual process and making the whole thing available via a shortcut would probably require some kind of scripting facility. (I don’t know how the software could automatically know where to pin the new layer to if it was doable via a shortcut.) Catshill and pagelayoutt 2 Quote

I'll try playing with your suggestion of combining a Frame Text layer with a preassigned Text Wrap setting (and perhaps assign it to a keyboard shortcut). Thanks! Quote

I don’t understand what you mean by that. Most, but not all, layers are “pinnable” - they can be pinned - but I don’t know what you mean by “not yet assigned”. A layer can be pinned, or not, but it cannot be ‘pre-assigned’ as potentially pinned to any specific layer since it can only be pinned to the layer it is pinned to at the time, or it is not pinned. Are you sure that you understand what pinning does and whether you are correct in using it for your purposes? Quote

In APub documents are pinning positions kind of "pre-drilled" just because we can pin an object at any position within a text frame. The number of "pre-drilled holes" is equal to the number of text characters (actually +1) on the current spread. Nevertheless, the desired pinning position for a specific object is unknown and hardly can get automated or scripted. (I haven't tried: perhaps it is possible to use APub's Photo Persona to create a macro that applies certain wrapping options to selected object. However, it's use may be more cumbersome than other options, e.g. a Picture Frame as asset.) pagelayoutt 1 Quote • MacBookPro Retina 15" | macOS 10.14.6 | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1 • iPad 10.Gen. | iOS 18.5. | Affinity V2.6
