Spacebar cursor navigation seems broken in frame text

I have been trying to move the cursor in frame text by the normal iPad method of long-pressing on the spacebar in the on-screen keyboard and then moving my finger, but it doesn’t work. The cursor may jump to the beginning of the text, but it is otherwise incontrollable.

I have tried force-closing Designer and reopening it, but that hasn’t solved the problem. I have also reproduced the problem in a new and otherwise blank document, so the problem is not limited to the document I am currently trying to edit.

Is there a way to fix this?

There's a known issue that's marked as fixed in the recently introduced 2.5.5.2613 Beta: 

Quote

[iOS] iPad: Long-pressing spacebar puts caret at start of text frame and cannot be moved by dragging [AF-3440]

They hope to release that as the official App Store build soon, but you could try the Beta now to confirm it's fixed for you.

That’s good to know. Thanks!

I won’t sign up for the beta for now because the fix will probably have been released by the next time I use Publisher, but it’s good to know that that option is there if I ever need it in the future.
