Can we please get a snap candidate for the middle of lines, please.
So we can put a node right in the middle of lines quickly.  Quarter and/or third length snap candidates would be nice too.  We could toggle these in the snap settings.

To split curves with a new node:

Do one of the following:

  • Ctrl-click (Mac) the node before the adjoining curve segment you want to add a midpoint node to and select Split Curve After Node.
  • Split Curve Select a node, then click the same option on the context toolbar.

Which segment is split depends on the current curve orientation (indicated by a red-line indicator). Use Reverse Curve to change this curve orientation or reselect an adjacent node to split from.

I've discovered the pen tool gives us a middle of curve snap candidate, for adding a new curve to the middle of an existing one.

That's exactly the snap that I would want for the node tool too.

I would bet that the snap is for the centre of the bounding box. Does it still work if you turn off the Snap to "bounding box mid points"?

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Ya, you're right.  It is so close to the middle because my line wasn't that crooked, it looked like the middle of the line, my fault.
