Elastic9 Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 Hi everyone I probably have a somewhat odd question. Is it possible to find/calculate the color average of an image or a selection within Affinity Photo? I know there is an averaging brush, but it doesn't do what I'm looking for. Does anyone know if this is possible with Affinity Photo and if so, how to do it. Thanks for your kind advice. Quote
kaffeeundsalz Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 Yes, there's Filters > Blur > Average that does exactly that. It even respects selections, meaning if you have an active selection, only the selected pixels will get averaged. This is an enhancement I requested long ago and that got implemented silently (?) at some point. After applying the filter, you can use the Info Panel to get the exact values for various color models (including RGB, HSL and Hex like in your example). Should be pretty much what you want. Elastic9 Posted August 9, 2024 Author Posted August 9, 2024 Ahhh, yes, you're right, that's exactly what I was looking for. Many thanks for your help. (I somehow wouldn't have expected this function under the "Blur" option. Well, okay.) 😅 Quote
henryanthony Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 You could also fill two layers with colors and select Blending Mode > Average to the top layer. walt.farrell and NotMyFault 2 Quote Affinity Photo and Design V1.
