ASUNDER Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 Is there a way I can resize a shape on one axis only, both ways at the same time, moving from the transform point? In this example pic I would be making my rectangle wider but not taller. But both sides move outwards at the same time. ? ASUNDER Posted August 9, 2024 Author Posted August 9, 2024 Weird. I tried it with the node tool then it does work, not duplicating the shape. And now the move tool won't duplicate the shape either. Quote Windows 10 Home 22H2 64 bit Affinity Designer 2.5.3 , Photo 2 , Publisher 2 Good computer
Oidyuk Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 Hold control as said. Resizes from center ASUNDER 1 Quote

If you grab the shape CTRL will duplicate it If you grab the handle, it will resize it ASUNDER 1 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. ASUNDER Posted August 9, 2024 Author Posted August 9, 2024 Maybe it's because I was still in the rectangle shape tool when I was trying to do this. My fault. Quote Windows 10 Home 22H2 64 bit Affinity Designer 2.5.3 , Photo 2 , Publisher 2 Good computer

If you are using a Shape Tool when you want to resize then you will need to start resizing before holding the Ctrl key. It’s just something you get used to. The Status Bar at the bottom of the application window will tell you what options you have, in this case just hover the mouse pointer over a control handle to see what you can do via various modifier keys. However, also in this case, “Ctrl to resize around the centre” isn’t very descriptive, to me at least. ASUNDER 1 Quote

Oh wow, that does work. That reminds me, how come the status bar keeps saying things about the "Right Mouse" when a right mouse click always opens a context menu? I think the RightMouse button needs to be pressed additional to the LeftMouse button. This is due to the fact that on Windows there is one modifier key less than on Mac systems. d.
