Šimon Fuxa Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 Hello, Repeatedly Affinity shows me this message when I open various projects: 'Failed to load document: _______. The documnt appears to be corrupted. The document now must be closed." I have been working on a project in Publisher for a customer with a larger number of images, and for the second day in a row I have to make the project from scratch, because every time I restart my computer, even the newly created project shows me this message... This has already taken me two working days and now I have to create the project again... Is there any explanation as to why this is repeatedly appearing to me? This is my second year working with Affinity Publisher, Designer and Photo and this has never happened before... Thank you for your advice... Quote

If they’re in the cloud or on network attached storage, please copy them to your local hard drive and try again. Šimon Fuxa Posted August 9, 2024 Author Posted August 9, 2024 (edited) Thank you for your reply! I only worked with data from external drives connected to my PC. I do not disconnect these disks, they are hardwired... Edited August 9, 2024 by Šimon Fuxa Quote

Unfortunately, it seems that it’s still possible for the data transfer connection to an external drive to be lost, even when there’s a physical connecting cable. Really just a guess but I think one way this can happen is if the external drives go into a sleep or idle mode. The connection isn't actually lost but Affinity doesn't wait for them to wake.
