minimalpostr
I'm having trouble figuring out how to export a JPEG for print. The document is set to print and is 300 dpi, however, when I save, the image is 72 dpi. I don't see an option in the save settings (attached). Staff MEB Posted October 18, 2014 Staff Share Posted October 18, 2014 Hi minimalpostr, Welcome to Affinity Forums, The retail version from Mac App Store isn't setting the dpi correctly. This problem was already fixed in the latest beta and an updated MAS version should be available in a couple of weeks. AllieDale
I am also trying to export in 300 dpi so I can use for printing my wedding thank you cards, I'm loving it so far, very easy to use. Unfortunately I'm exporting at 72dpi, can I change this yet?
Raskolnikov
If you purchased already the app, and you can't wait for the appstore official update, you can downdoad for free the Beta that solves that issue... just download it and use it. Here the link: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/2287-affinity-designer-customer-beta-1019988/ It's beta but works perfect :P MattP

Steve2017
I am having this problem in Affinity Photo 1.5.2 (Mac, Sierra 10.12.5) project is at 300dpi all jpeg and tiff export at 72dpi. I have to work around by exporting as 300dpi .pdf and then open the .pdf in Apple Preview and export the jpeg/tiff at 300dpi from there. Thanks in advance for any help with this. Staff MEB Posted November 4, 2019 Staff Share Posted November 4, 2019 Hi hikerbikerwriter, Welcome to Affinity Forums This was already fixed and seems to be working fine for me using Affinity Photo 1.7.3. Can you give us a few more details please? To what format are you exporting, what OS are you running? Do you have any sample afphoto file that when exported to that format fails to honour the document dpi? Lonnie
I found this thread while trying to solve a problem I'm having. I want to save my images in at least 200 dpi, but no matter what I do, saving to JPEG only allows me to save at 72 dpi. I have looked for a way to change the settings but I'm not having any luck. No matter what I do, when I check the properties on an edited file, it shows up at 72 dpi.
Staff MEB Posted December 18, 2020 Staff Share Posted December 18, 2020 Hi @Lonnie, Welcome to Affinity Forums If you want to set the dpi of an image to 200 without resampling it, go to menu Document > Resize Document, set the DPI to 200 and untick/uncheck the Resample checkbox, then press Resize. wonderings
If this is for printing and there is text involved I would suggest not saving to jpeg, save to PDF? We get clients who do this and it always baffles me. Export as a PDF and send that, no dpi to worry about when it comes to the text, it will always remain crisp and clean. So many times I see people mucking about with DPI and the text looks horrible.
