Affinity Rat Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 How to determine the colour depth of a Affinity photo file? Create a file with 8 bit colour then add a 16 bit asset, does that convert the 16 bit asset to 8 bit or upscale the 8 bit to 16 bit. If I knew where to look within the app I could determine this myself. I suppose could save it and look at properties but preferring to look in the app itself. Also what happens if drop 16 bit asset onto 8 bit file….colour loss.? Quote

If you would place a file the file will keep its own color depth. When you convert the parent file from 8 to 16 bit you would be able to utilize the placed file with 16 bit color depth Affinity Rat 1 Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps.
