Forum: Serif tags and/or "item prefix"

I tried to create a new topic to see if a Serif tag gets accepted as input (it does) and I got an option for tags I haven't noticed before: "Item prefix"…

which causes three questions:

1. May/can Serif tags be added by 'simple' users to their topic?
2. If yes, would this cause the often mentioned "bumping"/nudging" to the developers?
3. What is the use/sense of "item prefix" for tags?

For "item prefix" I searched in the Forum's Software forum but the only answer (March 2019) seems not to explain its use or effect.

Anyone can add an issue ref as a part of their topic, but we don't recommend doing this as it won't trigger anything and if it's the incorrect issue ref it may cause some confusion, it's best just to leave issue tagging to staff.

No, it won't bump/add a report to an existing issue internally, this action can only be triggered by staff. This same staff action will also enable the Info bot to reply back to the thread if there are any updates/fixes.

Setting an item/tag prefix will prefix that tag in front of the topic title, like in my example below for 'test1'.

Thank you for clarifying! – In the meantime, this hint in particular appears useful, not only because nudging by simply adding an “issue ref” tag does not work anyway. While issue ref tags often may be obviously unambiguous (like the one linked above), this recent response illustrates the potential confusion that could arise if users were to assign these tags:
