simran.afdesignsimran.afdesignsimran.afdesignHi there, im attempting to connect the "dot" in an "i" together by moving it closer and connecting the nodes. But I can't figure out weld the nodes together. This is to allow me to print a cake topper I'm creating, which is done and this is the last part. Please see attached file, but I'd like to know how it's done. Cheers!

Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @Girn. :)

Instead of trying to weld nodes together, you can simply Boolean ‘Add’ a thin rectangle to the existing closed shapes.

By “connect”/”weld” do you mean that you want:

  • one of the nodes in the ‘dot’ to be at the same position as one of the nodes in the ‘I’, or;
  • the ‘dot’ to become part of the same curve as the ‘I’ to create an unending curve containing both ‘parts’, or;
  • something else?

Note: Full-screen (whole application UI) screenshots – taken via the OS or other application – are much better than photos taken with a phone (or similar device) because they are much clearer and (usually) contain more useful information.
