Maybe I’m assuming incorrectly, but I’m assuming that the reason the app sometimes takes up a ton of space on my iPad is that there are hidden temporary files?

Right now my iPad is telling me that it’s taking up over 9gb of space even though I have no photos loaded in it.

Is there a way to get it down to just the base size of the app itself? Is there a button? This is pretty frustrating.

Have you Saved everything you need in the app's Home Screen (Live Docs in V2), and Closed those files?

How many Assets, Brush Packs, etc. have you installed?

As I said, there is no photos in the app at all. It’s empty. I also have not installed any brushes or anything.

I run my photos through this app because I like how much nicer the final resized jpegs of my photos are when I export from this app instead of Lightroom. So every time I export I delete my photos right afterwards. I don’t need to keep them in Affinity Photo.

I also stitch panoramas and make focus stacked images in this app. But just like before, I delete the photos from the app once I’m done exporting them to where I need those files.

So it’s weird that the app takes up so much space when I don’t have any photos loaded into it.

It seems to be something to with how iPadOS handles sandbox disk space/virtual memory. The only known way of recovering I believe is to delete the app and then re-install. If you have any of the other apps you won’t lose your installed fonts, brushes etc but if you only have AP then you will need to re-install any third party assets you may use. Anything from the Serif store will be available again when you log back into your Serif account.
