connie7671 Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 I'm not a very advanced user of Affinity Publisher, and I'm currently formatting text in a relatively large document that needs to adhere to a prescribed section numbering system (eg. D 1.3.1 (a), and D 1.3.1 (b), and I'm trying to ascribe a "bullet" or "number" to a section to refer to "a" and onward, that has the proper indent as would a bullet for example. How come there isn't a additional selection beyond "bullet" and "number"? Letters are used all the time and am I missing something? If someone could illuminate me, please do! Quote
Old Bruce Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 In the Paragraph panel. Or you can set up a Paragraph Style ( I recommend doing so) for the Numbered list to use letters. MikeTO Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 You'll have to create a multi-level list. I'm unsure what the "D" before the 1.3.1 but if that was hardcoded and the rest was automatic, the Bullets and Numbering > Text field will need to be set as I've shown in these screenshots (two screenshots because the field isn't wide enough to show it all at once). You can enter the blue special symbols by selecting them from the popup menu on the left side of the field. \1 is Level 1, \2 is Level 2... and \# is current level.
