Jerdean Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Hello, I did a big circle and then a small circle right above the big circle and did Boolean Operations subtract..it went well because I only wanted to cut a hole inside the big circle but my problem comes when I use an image( a picture) and place a small circle right above it and do Boolean Operations subtract..it subtracts everything literally nothing is left. Does anyone know how to get it to work? Quote
carl123 Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 I assumed you placed the image so it is an Image layer You can select it and do Layer > Convert to Curves then the subtract should work Or set the blend mode of the circle to Erase (Note: Grouping those 2 layers will prevent the Erase from affecting other objects further down the layer stack, if that becomes an issue) R C-R 1 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. Komatös Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Hello and welcome to the forums, @Jerdean What exactly do you want to achieve? Should the photo/image be brought into a round shape? Or should the image/photo be given a round frame? Boolean operations usually only work with vector objects (closed curves). You would have to convert the image/photo into curves first. And instead of substract choose Devide in the boolean operations. Jerdean Posted August 5, 2024 Author Posted August 5, 2024 I want to cut a small circle within the image. Quote
Jerdean Posted August 5, 2024 Author Posted August 5, 2024 You can select it and do Layer > Convert to Curves then the subtract should work I tried that and it worked. Thank you! Quote

Which is why it works with what @carl123 suggested by converting Image layers to curves. Jerdean Posted August 5, 2024 Author Posted August 5, 2024 @Komatös I actually saw your answer first and then I saw @carl123's answer and tried it and it worked. 😊 Komatös 1 Quote
