MikeTO Posted August 4, 2024 Posted August 4, 2024 There's a group box around Enable Snapping but I don't know why since it's a single control. Perhaps it was to align the checkbox with the ones inside group boxes but it's almost impossible to see the group boxes in dark mode. The Maximum control isn't left aligned well with Candidates above or Show snapping candidates below. The Candidates group of 3 controls and the lonely Only snap to visible objects checkbox should be disabled when Snap to Object Bounding Boxes is selected because they have no effect when object snapping is disabled. They should also be moved below that control because they are sub-options of it. MikeTO Posted August 4, 2024 Author Posted August 4, 2024 A related but incredibly minor bug report which I'll tack onto this suggestion because it's so trivial. The options in the Candidates list aren't capitalized consistently. MikeTO Posted August 4, 2024 Author Posted August 4, 2024 One more very tiny one. The preset options menu has Create Preset and Rename Preset without ellipses. The same commands have ellipses in other windows such as Grid and Axis. I'm not sure I follow, do you mean when object snapping is 'enabled'? If so then this is not the case, 'Maximum' and 'Show snapping candidates' are only enabled when 'Candidate list' is the selected option and in that instance, it does influence which objects are snapped to, i.e., if there are say six main objects on the page and the Maximum candidates is set to four when 'Snap to object bounding boxes' is checked a seventh object will only snap to the bounding boxes of the three nominated candidates and not the other three objects... The same is true for 'Snap to visible object'... if you set 'Maximum' to seven so all six main objects are snapping candidates and then hide three of those objects a seventh object will only snap to the visible objects bounding boxes when 'Snap to object bounding boxes' is checked, not the hidden ones, despite the hidden ones also being nominated snapping candidates... Apologies if I've completely misunderstood the point you're making here but I just wanted to try and understand your logic... These controls have no effect if "Snap to Object Bounding Boxes" is deselected (and presumably if shape key points and object geometry are deselected when those features work). I was merely pointing out that the various snap-to-object controls aren't grouped together. The window has some snap-to-object controls followed by some snap-to-grid/guides/baseline... controls followed by more snap-to-object controls. Hangman Posted August 6, 2024 Posted August 6, 2024 Thanks for the clarification, that makes sense now...
