I'm sorry, Antonio, but I don't understand the question. Can you provide a visual example of what you see now, and what you would like to see instead?

In case you are talking about "Zoom" I agree (for V1). While zooming with the scroll wheel respects the current cursor position and therefore makes it easy to zoom into a specific spot in the layout, the zoom via menu / shortcut keys seems to ignore both the current cursor position and a currently selected object. Instead it appears to zoom to mostly unpredictable coordinates.

At this point, Antonio, you have asked a Question. Usually Questions will not lead to product changes. For that, you would need to make a request in the Feedback section of the forums, where the developers and planners look to find suggestions from the users.

It is possible there are other suggestions for this function, and you could simply agree with one of them. Or it may be new, and would require a new post/topic.

You can find Guidance for posting in that section of the forums here.

For me, View > Zoom to Selection will zoom to any selected layer object but not to selected text within a text layer -- it just zooms to the entire text object.

That's true and helpful, but the question still remains as to where the 100% / 200% / 400% / 800% options zoom to. Unlike cmd+/cmd-, which always zoom to the centre of the layout window (unfortunately regardless of the current page or object selection), the percentage zoom commands seem to base on a specific idea that I just can't figure out.
