MikeTO Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 I mentioned this a couple of years ago but I don't think it was ever logged as an issue. The Abbreviations, AutoCorrect, and Title Exceptions feature rely on word lists bundled with the app. These lists are missing on macOS outside of English UK - I don't know if they're missing on Windows, too. Abbreviations: Identical default word lists are included for English UK and US but not for Canada, Australia, etc. So typing "a.d." will capitalize it in UK and US but not in Canadian or Australian English. AutoCorrect: Identical default word lists are included for English UK and US but not for Canada, Australia, etc. So typing "..." will not create an ellipsis, typing -- will not create an en dash, typing 1/2 will not result in a fraction, etc. Title Exceptions: Only English UK has a default word list so the Title Case feature doesn't work in English US, Canada, Australia, etc. I use Canadian English and when I first used these features I thought they didn't work at all.
