When I click on a shape and add a fill and or stroke, red hairlines appear around the object. The only way I can remove them is to close and reopen the file.

Even when I hover over an object the red lines appear.  The oddest thing is that if I click and hold inside the color panel the lines disappear only to return upon releasing the click.

I reset everything back to default settings and it still does it. Has anyone ever seen this before?

Sounds like you have Show snapping candidates turned on.

Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Old Bruce,

Thank you so much. You where right. As soon as I unchecked "show snapping candidates" the problem was solved.

Thanks for helping in the forum, and so quickly. You saved me from wasted time.

Note that it isn't really a problem, at least in the sense that the purple outlines are not actually included in the file or any of its layers.

Also, the outlines do not appear if snapping is not enabled or if it is & Candidates: is not set to "Candidate list."
