Select all of specific objects

Recommended Posts

Firstly, I am really enjoying Affinity Designer. Just bought it and I am using it for preparing figures for scientific publications, a job I used to use Illustrator for. thing that often needs doing is changing the text font and size as well as point size of strokes for graphs and so on. Illustrator had a great feature where you could select all of a particular type of object 'text' for example in the document. You could then apply changes to those bjects all at once and save a lot of time and frustration in selecting objects you need to apply the same change to.

Perhaps this feature is already there, but I canot find it anywhere and find no mention of it in the forum either. It would be great if designer had a similar feature as opposed to simply selecting all objects as is done now.

Thanks,

Select by attribute (e.g., by color, stroke, etc.) seems like a very basic feature. It's surprising that it is still not available, or even listed on the "road map". This one feature would significantly enhance the overall usability of Affinity.

Was disappointed that 1.5 doesn't have select by attribute, and I note that the roadmap hasn't been updated. I am incredibly hopeful that this feature will be added soon. Together with "transform each", this is a critical feature for technical drawings and figures.

Hi was2be,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

The roadmap covers all 1.x cycle features. There may be a few exceptions - features that end up being added to the program without being listed there (since they weren't initially planned for 1.x versions) or new items added exceptionally to the roadmap, but overall, what's listed there currently is what's planned for the next updates until version 2.0.

We are aware that there's still some basic tools/features missing (and those vary considerably from user to user) but we have to plan according to the resources and time we have available. We can't add everything at once. Bear with us while we get there.
