MaxineD Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 I looked up old posts without any luck... I've inserted footnotes in my affinity publisher doc, and they disappeared, so I redid them, and now they've disappeared again. The in-text number ref is there, but no footnote. (There's been a lot of editing and page breaks added, so I guess the footnotes didn't get moved forward with the related text.) How do I find the notes again? And - is there a way I can look at all footnotes to check them? Quote
MikeTO Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 Hi Maxine, just to confirm, these are footnotes and not endnotes, correct? There is a known issue with all endnotes disappearing, and the reference markers are gone, too. If it's footnotes, is it all of them disappearing or just one or two? There is also a known issue with individual footnotes and sidenotes being invisible. They're not actually gone, they're just not shown and the reference markers are still visible. If this is the issue, open the Layers panel on a page with missing footnote(s). Expand the main text frame layer if it's not already expanded by clicking the caret (>) on its left. This will display a child layer for each footnote attached to the frame. Click on those one by one and if you find one that is invisible then you are having that known issue. Here are some other reports of this issue. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/search/&tags=AF-279 This is a difficult issue to work around. Here are some tips I provided to somebody else: Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.6 for macOS Sequoia 15.5, MacBook Pro (M4 Pro) and iPad Air (M2)
