Welcome to the Affinity forums, @Ribbon.

To see if I understand, can you confirm if this is the workflow you used:

  1. Open/Create a document in Publisher.
  2. Define some Text Styles.
  3. In the Text Styles panel, use the panel options and click Save Styles as Default.
  4. Close and re-open the application.
  5. Create another new document.
  6. In that new document, the Text Styles panel does not show your saved Text Styles.

Note that at step 5, you must be creating a new document. If you Open an existing document, the Text Styles from that document will always be shown in the Text Styles panel. The defaults are used only for new documents.

Photos are not new documents, so it would use only the Text Styles in that document that you're opening. But photos also don't contain Text Styles natively, so when you Open one of them you won't have any Text Styles.

For that situation, you will need to Import Styles from some other document where you've added them.

This will also happen with PDF files that you Open, as they do not contain Text Styles, either.

Thanks that was helpful! just one more question pls, Does Affinity photo 2 have any option that functions the same way as that but for my situation which is doing "open with" beside importing everytime?

No.

If you Open an image (JPG, TIFF, PNG) it will have no Text Styles until you create some or Import them. After that, if you want to be able to work on that image at a later time, and still have the Text Styles available, you would need to Save as a .afphoto file after you have added/imported the Text Styles.
