This situation happens over and over again. I don't know what caused it, which brings great trouble to the design work.

Don't you mean Expand Stroke?

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

It is because it is an open curve. Expand stroke IMO works only with closed curves. But there is a "workaround".

1) Duplicate the open curve in the exact same place.

2) Select both with the Move Tool (IMPORTANT).

3) Switch to the Node Tool and Join Curves.

4) Expand Stroke.

Thanks for your report @aji!

I can confirm this is a bug logged with our development team, as Expand Stroke should function on both open and closed curves. The specific issue logged is that certain curves can 'disappear' from the canvas when expanding, but the layer itself remains in the Layers Studio.

I'll be sure to 'bump' this with our dev team now to bring it to their attention once again :)

You ruined my research for a workaround. 😭

Edit: Wasn't meant seriously.

Apologies! FWIW I've tested your workaround above with the sample file attached to the development log for this issue & I can confirm the object was then able to be expanded without being lost - so I'll update this report with this information now as it may help our team determine the cause of this issue :D
