iBacio Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 Hello, Another issue. If I am build a new table I can easily set the width of the column, then I can add the next columns. (I did it on the first tables shown on the attachement). But when the table is ready I am unable to change the width of the first column to the required size. My goal is to have a square cell. If I change the size of table all the columns are increased/decreased evenly or proportionally. I need to change one column only and to keep the width of the whole table. Actually, it is more complicated - I can change the width of the first column if I only have two columns table. When I have a three-column table, changing the first column width make a total mess. So the question - how to it properly/correctly? Quote
Hangman Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 Hi @iBacio and welcome to the forums, This should work without any obvious issues depending on how you've created your table... iBacio Posted August 3, 2024 Author Posted August 3, 2024 (edited) Thank you for your reply. That guided me to the real core of the problem. It seems that I the problem is with the tables, where: - the column B is hidden ("zero width"?) - as on the first attachement after column A there is C and no B at all, - there are three columns (A, B, C), but two of them B and C are merged. In such cases adjusting the width of the columns does not work as it should. I think there is a problem somewhere deeper, but now I can work it around. You should be able to 'unmerge' all the cells in the table and then it's a case of ensuring your content appears in the correct cells before merging the relevant cells or ensuring that any relevant cells are merged before entering text allowing for the number of columns required for the finished layout... With the sample images you uploaded, it's clear the design required three distinct columns, the first two of which were resized to form 'square' cells but either way, I'm glad you have everything working correctly now... iBacio 1 Quote Affinity Designer 2.6.3 | Affinity Photo 2.6.3 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.3 MacBook Pro M3 Max, 36 GB Unified Memory, macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, Magic Mouse HP ENVY x360, 8 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, Windows 10 Home, Logitech Mouse
