Leonide Principe Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 Hi, Several days now trying to Export a PDF book: the Publisher app cashes before completing the task. The app and the MacOS are up-to-date: Publisher 2.5.3 running on Monterey 12.7.6; I collected all the assets as reference in the same folder of the book; There is no red alerts on preflight, only yellow ones because of the bilingual book; From the Book panel I select all the 10 chapters of the book and I export from the panel menu; On the Area option of the Export window, I tried both "All chapters" and "All chapters as page"; Please, see the screenshot of the crash alert. Thanks for helping, Leo Publisher crash OS report.rtf Quote
Dan C Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 Hi @Leonide Principe, Thanks for your report & our apologies for the delayed response here as our team are exceptionally busy due to our current 50% sale & extended trial offer. From your crash report provided, it appears as though this may be due to a specific hyperlink in your exported file, though unfortunately this is not 100% clear. Therefore I'd like to request a copy of this file to investigate further - can you please upload a copy of your .afbook and all .afpub chapters to the below link for me? https://www.dropbox.com/request/TOj6YNynJ2rxo5QOwl0x I don't require your linked resources at this time, as I am hoping to find the issue without these, but I will be sure to request these separately if required. Once uploaded, please reply here to let me know Quote
Leonide Principe Posted August 2, 2024 Author Posted August 2, 2024 Hi Dan, files already sent. Thank you very much Quote
Dan C Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Many thanks for providing these for me! I can see the crash is occurring due to an invalid Hyperlink in the 'Horizontes' file on Page 11 (89). There are 2 QR code objects, within Groups, one of which has an invalid URL hyperlink applied, causing this document to crash. I've also noted a few strange things regarding these objects, which I've done my best to outline below: Both QR codes are generated for the '/?p=784' page. The Group object on the left hand side of the page (Hyperlink 37, in the Hyperlinks dialog), contains the invalid URL which appears to have been pasted twice. This links to the '/?p=779' page. Removing this doubled URL path and including only once stops the app from crashing when exporting. The QR object on the left hand side of the page also has a hyperlink added (Hyperlink 38, in the Hyperlinks dialog). This links to the '/?p=1437' page - but the hyperlink would not be selectable in the exported file, as the Group hyperlink takes priority. The Group object on the right hand side of the page (Hyperlink 35, in the Hyperlinks dialog) links to the '/?p=784' page. The QR object on the right hand side of the page also has a hyperlink added (Hyperlink 38, in the Hyperlinks dialog). This links to the '/?p=447' page - but as above the hyperlink would not be selectable in the exported file, as the Group hyperlink takes priority. Therefore your QR codes don't seem to be pointing to the expected URL (I believe this should be the '/?p=779' page?), and neither of the clickable hyperlinks added to the Groups match this, or each other either. Equally the hyperlink added to the QR objects directly will not be usable in the exported file as the Group hyperlink would overlay this - so should either be removed or match the Group/QR hyperlink. I'd recommend checking that all of your QR codes throughout are pointing to the correct URL, and these match the manual Hyperlinks you've added to the Groups that these QR objects are in - as currently there seems to be confusion as to the exact URL this page should direct you to and you will get different results when clicking, compared to when following the QR link, etc. I hope this helps Quote
