So I have drawn a basic arrow using the pen tool.

Next I make a copy off it and rotate the copy 45 degrees.

Now I want to move one of the copies corners, nodes, call it what you want to snap to one on the original.

Will it do it.....nope. Doesn't matter what settings I meddle with in the snaps it won't do it.

Now call me weird, but isn't one point of precision creation the ability to snap to things!? I love Affinity but my god this shouldn't be such a pain.

In fact, I can't snap to the corner on the original at all. Not to draw a line from it or anything. I snaps around the point in random jumps REGARDLESS of what I enable or disable in the snap settings.

If I was able to draw a path to that point in the first place, why can't I afterwards!?

Thanks, that did indeed enable me to select the points in question and snap to them. However, it is shocking that we don't have snaps that do what they should at this point in the products life cycle.

Your comment is a bit confusing. You were able to snap as desired but snaps don't do what they should do? What more should they be doing?

Unfortunately, I'm not sure from your description that I understand exactly what you want to do and what you want to snap to (a screenshot or video is always welcome and clear), but doesn't snapping work when using the Node tool?

OK, I'm going to try to answer these latest responses in a civil manor.

If I draw an equilateral triangle, and then I copy it to the side. In any other program on earth that uses snaps, I would be able to select the top corner of my copy and move it so it "snaps" to any of the corners on the original one.....perfectly. This is the point of, and definition of snapping. I am not getting this behavior from any of my snapping options.

"Your comment is a bit confusing. You were able to snap as desired, but snaps don't do what they should do? What more should they be doing?" NO it isn't, because I am having to use a different tool, specifically the point transform one.

Your comment is still a bit confusing! How does “NO it isn’t” qualify as a comprehensible answer to the question “What more should they be doing?”?? :/

Again, without a screenshot, I'm just guessing what exactly you want to do ("move it" can mean several situations), but if this, then I have no problem with snapping - and of course using the Node Tool, not some different tool.

Or do you mean this, which I also have no problem with - of course, again only with the Node Tool.
