Affinity Files With Embed Always Gone

I encountered an issue in Affinity V2 (Version 2.5.3) that affects all series (Designer, Photo, Publisher).

I have a mockup file that contains an embedded layer where I can place a photo to preview how my design will look when printed. However, when I use the mockup file as one of the layers in another Affinity file, every time I edit the mockup file, the embedded layer disappears and becomes unusable.

This embedded layer is always positioned beneath another layer, similar to how a smart object works. I never experienced this issue in V1. Please address this issue as soon as possible.

This looks like a screen redraw issue...

Could you upload a cut-down version of your file (or the whole file if easier) that just includes the Artboard shown in your screen recording together with the original embedded Placed file and Photo... I appreciate it's already embedded but it would be helpful to have the source files as well so we can take a look at what might be going on here...

Thanks For reply @Hangman well, im not sure what u need but i will send video whats happen in my issue from beginning.

Im Creating New Artboard, Place Others Affinity Files Mockups , Then i Edit the mockups in the new artboard ( in video im changing picture ), then im close the embed and back to my new artboard.. and picture gone, and when im edit document back, the embed files in mockup cant open again.

I fairly recently logged a very similar issue to this with replacing content in .PSD embedded layers (thread below) resulting in the resource data being lost. What i'm observing in your recordings appears to be essentially the same/a very similar issue with embedded .afdesign files. Could you possibly share one of the affected files shown in your recordings so I can confirm? I've provided a private upload link below.

Thanks for reply @NathanC, i hope this issue will be fixed as soon as possible.. because in V1 its completely no have issue about this.. because this issue make me works 2 times
