I have recently learned about the wrap text tool. But once I used the tool I can no longer change the colour of the text or edit it in anyway. Can anyone help with this please?

Hi @Andy51 and welcome to the forums.

Can you please provide us with a screen recording so that we can see where the problem is.

Correction warp tool (not wrap)

Don't use that one

Use...

Layer > New Live Filter Layer > Distort > Mesh Warp

Thank you. I don't seem to have the mesh warp option in these settings?

It's a V2 option, what version of APhoto are you using?

Keep an eye on your Layers panel. The WarpTool doesn't work with a layer of type 'Text' layer but requires a 'Pixel' layer. Quite likely you got an Assistant info, too. You can change the colour of the pixel layer with the common ways (brush, fill, adjustment, …) but you can't edit its initial text with a TextTool.

Judging by the “fx” icon in the Layers Panel, rather than “FX”, the OP seems to be using V1.

Once the Mesh Warp Tool (or the Perspective Tool) has been used on a text layer, the text becomes rasterised (as a Pixel Layer) and cannot later be edited as text. This is expected behaviour.

If you need to warp text and keep it as text then the Warp Group functionality in Designer is a better fit but that’s not available in Designer V1, and new licences for Designer V1 cannot be purchased. To use this functionality you would have to upgrade all the Affinity applications or have problems going between application versions.
