Missing Field "Section Number"

Hi,

It is possible to add the FIELD "Section Name" in the Master, but it is impossible to add "Section Number" (In Abode is possible).

Please solve or add this problem.

Hi @Test Ammissione and welcome to the forums.

Publisher does not have an automatic section numbering feature so this is a limitation and not a bug. A number of us have previously requested the feature so maybe Serif will add it someday.

I recommend entering numbers into the section name field. The disadvantage of this, of course, is that there is only one field so you can't have both a number and a name. And you would have to number the sections manually.

Note that Publisher displays a number for each section in the Section Manager but they are numbered from 1. Your front matter chapter is likely section 1, so chapter 1 will likely be section 2. These section numbers should be ignored because they are at best confusing.
