Chromakey Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 I am attempting to try Affinity Photo 2 on my laptop which runs Windows 7 Pro, v 6.1.7601 SP1 Build 7601 32G RAM I get the error message that "Supported Windows system is not found" though. Looking at the "more information" only says that I need SP1 (which I have) Quote

Windows 10 is a good OS and worth the upgrade from Windows 7 so I would not hesitate. Also if I remember correctly it was a free update? I could be wrong on that, it has been a few years. Quote
Ron P. Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 Use to be a free upgrade, but they discontinued that a few years ago. Now you need to purchase a copy, and I'm not sure it's easily found. Windows 11 has been out for at least a year now. Upgrading to it is free (so far). Sadly my machine doesn't meet the specs for that. Oh well... Dan C Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 Welcome to the Affinity Forums @Chromakey & sorry to hear you're having trouble! 1 hour ago, Chromakey said: I get the error message that "Supported Windows system is not found" though. Looking at the "more information" only says that I need SP1 (which I have) I can confirm that our developers are aware of a bug whereby the V2 installer still redirects you to a V1 page - however this should be noted at the top of the webpage you are redirected to; Unfortunately as confirmed above, the Affinity V2 apps require at least Windows 10 or higher to be compatible, our apologies. I will also 'bump' this logged issue with our development team regarding this incorrect link in the installer now, so that it should be updated to be correct for future installers. I hope this clears things up Chromakey 1 Quote

Download the latest Windows 11 ISO that match your current system (Home or Pro). https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11 You must mount the ISO with Windows. Make a right click on the ISO and choose Deploy (or equivalent). Open the Console with admin rights: Windows key + R > type cmd > hold shift + ctrl and press enter. Navigate to the virtual disc drive: Type the letter from the disc drive + : Now you are ready to setup Windows 11 with a inline repair installation. Type setup /product server Don't worry, no server version will be installed. This only bypasses the query of the "required" hardware. Just out of curiosity - have you tried installing Win11 on a PC that does not meet the HW requirements? My point is so that Win11 can not only be installed, but also run somewhat decently (adequate to Win10).
