Affinity Designer/Affinity Photo: Repetitive Things: Let me change the default behavior please! + Questions regarding other workflow madness!

Windows Affinity Designer and Photo 2.53:

These are some things I want to change the default behavior, but I can't. It's annoying that I can't. If I am wrong, please point out how I can do it to make my workflow less annoying.

Affinity Designer:
1. When I important a large image, it's often too big for the workspace. Off the workspace, it is black. In order to see the image, I have to press the (BACKSLASH \) key above the enter key. How can I change the default behavior so I don't have to push this key all the time? If I can't, why not? Feature request.

Affinity Photo:
2. I often use: Pen Tool > Make a Curve > Mask: How can I copy curves and add to the same mask?
Use case:
I often use the Pen Tool to trace an image to mask out what I want, what I don't want and to make the edges cleaner.

For example, if I wanted to mask out just the eyes of the character, I typically would:

1. Duplicate the image
2. Draw a rectangle around the whole image.
3. Mask the curve.
4. Continue the curve. Draw a curve around one eye and then the other eye.
5. Disable visibility of bottom layer and export the image with the eyes masked out.

How can I make step 4 faster and just duplicate the eye and quickly adjust the curve?

Affinity Photo:
3. I often forget to press the buttons to continue new curves with the same curve/object.
Can I change the default states of these buttons? Instead of always pushing these buttons, why can't I set the default behavior?

Affinity Photo:
4. Can I copy the curves and add them to the previous curve when using it as a mask?

Affinity Photo:
5. When using the Pen Tool, the curve is BLUE when at 0pt size. I want to be able to change the color of this curve sometimes so it's easier to work.

Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo:
6. I often work with multiple documents open. Each document creates a document tab. I switch between these tabs often. However, I would like to be able to lock some tabs in place.

If the curve is selected, then, like its bounding box, it is always blue - even if it does not have zero width.

The color of the selected curve can only be changed by placing it in a Layer (and changing the color from the default blue), i.e. only in ADesigner and APublisher.
