Sitaara Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 Hi, Today I tried to create a frame with vector brushes, as I did some time ago. Unfortunately, the problem with most brushes is that the line is not closed properly. Is there a trick for this problem? Quote
GarryP Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 If you insert a Break in the curve at the start/end point then the problem might be lessened but, depending on various things, it might not go away entirely. Sitaara 1 Quote

It seems to be largely dependent on the cap style: Sitaara and GarryP 1 1 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)
Sitaara Posted July 29, 2024 Author Posted July 29, 2024 @GarryP@Alfred Thank you for your help. I just did this very quickly. One solution seems to be converting to curves and opening them (in the example, I had to do this in every corner). That's not my favourite solution, but if it has to be. The other solution seems to be to round off the corners. In any case, these are some ideas I can play around with. Alfred 1 Quote
Sitaara Posted July 29, 2024 Author Posted July 29, 2024 @Alfred How did you make the moving background that your avatar is on? I think it's cool! Quote

I presume you’re referring to the header on my profile page. I’m sorry to say that I didn’t make it myself, I simply found it online. (It comes from Mel Brooks’ movie Spaceballs.) thomaso Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 Apart from stroke caps and additional node, for certain brushes also their Head | Tail Offset may influence the stroke's start/end: Sitaara 1 Quote • MacBookPro Retina 15" | macOS 10.14.6 | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1 • iPad 10.Gen. | iOS 18.5. | Affinity V2.6
Sitaara Posted July 29, 2024 Author Posted July 29, 2024 @thomaso Thank you for that tip. Some stroke can be tamed with it. But, as is so often the case, not on the ones you want to use (I think this must be a universal law). Quote

And whoever made it, it looks cool anyway. 😁 Quote

It just looked a bit weird at first blush, but now I see how it works. It says “text=<first part of the text>,<last part of the text>”, where the first part is “Ludicrous Speed was a hyperspace” and the last part is “be visible to all bystanders.” Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)
