Layer panel selection problem

In the layer panel, I have a graphic selected, but with the move tool arrow, I'm trying to select text on the page. I notice that neither the graphic is selected nor can I select the text on this page.

The OP’s screenshot clearly shows that the selected layer is not a text layer.

As far as I know there is nothing to be fixed, from what is reported here so far.

For you, we would need to see a screenshot of the complete application window, with the Layers panel included and the relevant layer showing in the Layers panel.
