Staff Ash Posted October 17, 2014 Staff Share Posted October 17, 2014 Twitter suggestion - should text objects (probably artistic only) also snap to the baseline of the text? https://twitter.com/tristanb88/status/522782479690633216/photo/1 A_B_C 1 Quote Managing Director Help make our apps better by joining our beta program! Dave Harris
Text snapping is still half-baked, frankly. At the moment, if you move the rectangle it will snap to the baseline of the first line of text, but if you move the text, its baseline won't snap to the rectangle. We will fix it soon. finedesign
Has this been resolved yet? I am trying to understand how to setup text snapping to my grid system in AD.
Dave Harris
I'm afraid it hasn't been tackled yet.
ajay.ganapathy
Snapping to text baseline is a must ... especially for Affinity's upcoming desktop publishing solution. I hope the code for that can be used in designer as well Oval
finedesign
Snapping to text baseline is a must ... especially for Affinity's upcoming desktop publishing solution. I hope the code for that can be used in designer as well I would even argue that text baseline snapping is more critical for screen layouts. The whole Google material design approach uses typographic grids. I don't understand how people actually use AD for grid layouts and typography.
