walt.farrell Posted July 3, 2024 Posted July 3, 2024 Welcome to the Affinity forums. Your SetupUI.log file shows that you have some operations awaiting a Windows restart, so I would start by trying that: + CheckPendingFileRenameOperations + PendingFileRenameOperations + \??\C:\Users\tiive\AppData\Local\Temp\PCWDA9E.xml + + \??\C:\Users\tiive\AppData\Local\Temp\PCWDA9E.tmp + Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. walt.farrell Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 Thanks. That shows an MSI error 1612. My guess (and it is a complete guess): You previously ran some kind of uninstaller application that wiped out some files that are needed for a reinstall, but did not remove everything it should have. If you haven't already tried running the install "as administrator", you can try that. Right-click on the installer and choose "Run as Administrator" If that doesn't work, my best suggestion is to try the Microsoft Uninstall Troubleshooter. Yes i ran unisnstaller programm before this, its honestly quite frustrating how poorly coded it is, i downloaded the affinity installer and all im asking it is to install it but in that case it thinks i already have it installed and just crashes on me, why it doesn’t have an option to totally reinstall if from scratch and delete or replace all the old files, im quite disappointed to be honest Quote

If it was simply asking Windows to Uninstall the program, that should have worked. If it was some other Uninstaller application, I would blame that application for doing it incorrectly, not the Affinity application. It found an entry for Designer, but selecting it made no difference? or It found nothing to work on. For this one, it should allow you to specify a product key, and (from your SetupUI.log) I think you would want 397D0864-05AE-4528-92A5-465F043D9F1D Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
