I am trying to create combined cross-references in Publisher version 2.5.3. I want to combine Paragraph Body and Page Number by inserting them in the text box, but as soon as I click on Page Number in the list it over writes the Paragraph Body. I am reading MikeTO's pdf on page 203 but are obviously missing something.....

How do I make the cross-reference to be "Minsta mått på valputrymme i m2" på sida 85.

You could use copy-paste:

  1. Complete the field as in your first screenshot
  2. Select all
  3. Cut
  4. Insert <PageNumber> via the down pointed arrow
  5. Set the insertion point before it
  6. Paste — this will not replace PageNumber in the field, unlike using the drop menu

I apologise for any approximations in my English. It is not my mother tongue.

Hmm, it seems that there's a small bug here now. If the field has focus, then choosing a preset option from the list will overwrite what you've entered even though the text is not selected, just as you described. This needs to be fixed.

But if the field doesn't have focus, it will work fine. So before choosing from the preset list, press Tab. That will remove focus from the field and ensure the preset you choose is appended to the end of the text field.

Good luck

This appears to be a regression... It was originally logged under AF-907 and shown as fixed in v2.3.0.2139...

It is a Mac only issue...

I'm new to Affinity and this is quite worrying. Is this happening often, i.e. not having a proper test method to avoid implementing fixed faults?

Hi @Cathy Lewis,

No, I would say this is a rarity, there is very occasionally the odd regression but they are far and few between and things like this are usually acted on quickly by the development team at Serif perhaps more so as this is Mac specific and doesn't affect the Windows version...

I've updated the bug report and notified the Serif Info Bot.
