jmliss
I'm either not understanding how the channel mixer works, or the help page, which seems to be accurate, does not match the behavior of the feature. The attached PDF explains what I see. It seems that the algorithm is opposite of expectations. Increasing the green slider, in my example, seems to decrease the green contribution. Decreasing the green slider, in my example, seems to increase the green contribution. If this is the way the software is supposed to behave, then the online help is wrong. Let me also state that Pixelmator pro, has the same feature and their help page is similar and their software behaves opposite to the current version of Affinity Photo. walt.farrell
There's no attached PDF in your post. (Additionally, for screenshots, simple JPG or PNG files are preferred, for ease of viewing.) Also, in my opinion, if the issue is that you don't understand, the Questions forum would be better than Feedback. But if the issue is that the Help is incorrect or that the program is not functioning correctly, the appropriate Bugs forum would be better. jmliss
have added, again, the channel mixer.pdf file I created from word what includes my experiments and explanations. There are some screen shots in the file. I am running the latest update of Affinity Photon on Sonoma. The sliders seem to work opposite of expectations and opposite to what the online help says. The file I attached is only 9mb so I don't understand my you don't see it. Channel mixer.pdf
jmliss
I see channel mixer. pdf now in the forum. Walt, I would appreciate you looking at it, as I believe it is either a bug in the software or in the help page. I had not tested this feature on previous versions of affinity photo. walt.farrell
Yes, the attachment is in your second post in this topic, though not in the first one. Thanks. I cannot comment on Pixelmator Pro. However, what you're seeing looks right to me. You have added Green to the Blue channel, and the overall image has taken on a kind of Cyan tone. If you mix some colors manually, using the color panel, you'll see that Blue + Green looks similar to Cyan (demo below) which is the effect I'm seeing in your screenshots (and that I see when I repeat your experiment). walt.farrell
You're welcome. (I won't claim to be an expert in this area, by the way. But at this point from the brief experimenting I've done, I think it's working as documented.)
